degree show. a video clip is copied onto several windows and put through algorithmic video editing software, re-sequencing hyper-spliced fragments of image and sound into a series of syncopated patterns. in this piece the domestic routine of preparing food becomes 'orchestrated'. the banal process takes on a 'musical' quality, as if possessed by the spirit of an unhappy drum machine. dave corbett//video installation//showroom 2 '[shuffle] i don't know' is a generative cut-up digital video, a real-time sequencing of sentences. the results can be interpreted as poetry, instructions, declarations, ambiguities, depending on the words that are triggered and the rules govern their construction into sentences. the work is constantly self-generating over an unforeseen duration. dave is a recent graduate from hull school of art and design, time based media programme. this new work was commissioned by lovebytes. m fell //installation//location tbc first shown at the international sheffield based artist and filmmaker paul harrison suspends a 'slice' of moving water impossibly in space, created by projecting a series of beautifully composed video sequences onto a sheet of glass. the artist has meticulously collected digital video footage from the north of england's seashores to make a work which challenges the boundaries between the actual and imagined, revealing hypnotic patterns in natural sounds and images. commissioned by lovebytes.(22 march:5 april) cctv soundscape//paul granjon//installation//showroom lightwell the landscape comprises an industrial zone and a (22 march:26 april) geo_try_01//george rogers//sound installation//ncpm foyer. a sound revolves at ten ticks per-second, the same rhythm as the flashes of light generated by the dream machine designed by brion gysin. the flickering light induces alpha waves to defeat beta waves normally active in the "awake" brain. by subtly shifting facial positioning and proximity to the machine, an alpha range of interruptions (8-13hz) opens to the user. george is currently studying phonic art at hull school of art and design, where he developed the work. fifty fifty//digital works//location tbc ffmix01 (fiftyfifty 2001) is a compilation cd-rom of digital creators from barcelona + 3 special guests (lia /re-move, netochka neznanova / 0f0003, magda scylla / optisonics).
