"I
got a pass and I've come for the whole festival. During my sculpture
degree I started using computers I'm trying to find out what
I want to do with them now and the festivasl is helping. I did
an MA in Computer Aided Graphical Tech.
I
found the Ardman talk really helpful. It remained me that it's
not all about what software you know. It's hard to know what
different industries actually want so that was very helpful.
The
Stormfront talk was interesting. I enjoyed the Warp 3 shorts
very much. I actually nearly animated one of those monologues
for Chris Morris. I'm just dipping into all areas at the moment. Douglas

[Re:Jet
Star]
"I
thought it was brilliant, but I though Groove Visuals and Devil Robot
should have been in there" Mike Downey
"The
train stuff and the dog stuff was amazing, that guy who did the
Honda adverts" Tom Hack
"I've
really got to give full tribute to my man over there, Michael
because it was his idea to come check this out and it was definitely
worth it. Power Graphics, they did a little short and I wanted
to get excited but I had to contain myself because I was in a
cinema, but I'm going to go home and get out my trampoline. Overall
I think it was really impressive and recommendable to anyone" Hassan

[Re:Lia
+ @C performance]
"Very textured piece given the limited palates, although he was in deep
shadow the guy who was contributing the vocals was very dynamic -they should
have had him lit up. Whats missing in new media perfiormances is the physical
body." Jonathan Allam artisit London
"Relief
to come out I could almost go and look at a tree now. Very
digital and electronic… but a narrative or pictures that were
less digital would have suited the music, that would have been
nice."

"We
saw the end of those DSP3 performancers. Interesting but as
the voice said at the end of the performance…let me out of
here and I think had I been in there an hour I think I would
be thinking the same! I
was interested in the correlation between the music and the
pictures though.
We
were just at the site gallery and thought the interactive
shadows were brilliant, very entertaining, charming and interesting
for all ages. We watched the small children and they were
thrilled to bits and galloping around and we went and where
very scientific in our viewing but either way there was obviously
great enjoyment to be had. We came over from Barnsley especially
for the talk and didn't realise we had the book so we're
going to go and queue and see if somebody doesn't come!"

"Havent
exprerienced anything like that before' 'I found myself going
into suspended animation nearly. Unbelivable. My head was rolling
around. Trippy and europhic"
Marcus, English Student
Sheffield
"I
went to Auto and Ether, that's what started my interest. And
listening to orchestral music and Sqaurepusher and Aphex Twin.
My mate gave me a ticket at the bar but in retrospect I should
have bought a festival pass"

"Bit
generic for my liking" Christian Lloyd, Lecturer, Leeds
College of Art & Design
"A
lot to take in. Captivating but too much for me to be honest" Rob Leeds
Advertising student
"Interesting
but I don't see what it was trying to get at." Tony,
Leeds A&D
"Asethetically
pleasing but couldn't find a concept at all" 'David, Leeds
A&D
"You
have to have indurance for it. I like the style of it yeah" Pauline,
Leeds A&D
"Repatarive overall, but I'd like to see some more stuff if it was a bit
shorter" Jeremy, Leeds A&D

"I'm
an artist from NYC . I though the Chris Watson performance was amazing
I though it was really consuming and beautiful. I actually preferred
just the sound, maybe because I'm in a state of severe sleep deprivation,
I'm jetlagged! Liz Rozanfelt |

"I
thought the morphed artists shorts were weak but I liked the Warp
films. The first piece was like average childrens tv, second was a
surfacey piece of motion graphics. It was directed by a friend of
mine actually so I'm looking forward to give him a ring cos I didn't
like it the first time round"

[Re:
Nobukazu Takemura performance]
"It was something different, never really been to something like
that before so it was good to see it. I'm planning to do a masters
next year in graphics so that's the sort of thing I'm looking at,
audio visual mixing so that's what attracted me too it"

"I've just seen Chris Watson..I though it was quite interesting
how they married the sounds of the irregular patterns you get in nature
with the irregular patterns in the music, but generally not my cup
of tea"

"Carsten Nicolai...Varations of shapes to diverse music. Really
good"

"I
think it's good to come and see what's going on with digital work
and I've recently got a new Mac so I'm being geeky with the programmes.
Animated audio I though was excellent, very diverse range of stuff,
really liked the first one slicing up the bird with the sounds. I
really like the integration between the sounds and the visuals, it
worked really well. Matt Kelly student, fine art time-based
media |

"Just
seen Carsten Nicolai..I really liked bits of it I kind of drifted
out of it abit. Sometimes I was bored and some bits were really cool,
I liked the visuals. Sometimes your brain couldn't compute what was
actually going on.

"Really
enjoyed Kurt Ralske, I liked it because he used real pictures and he
turned
it into something digital, that's like acoustic combined with electronics.
The other 2 performances used digital materials only. I play in a band
called
Osolator in Japan, my band just released a CD this March, it's avant
garde I play violins, also computers and some Chinese instruments as well"

"J-star2..really
good - seen some of their stuff before. We're both really interested
in Japanese graphics and illustration so it was a really good
mixture. Not as experimental as some of them, so it was entertaining
as well. Mainly came to see onedotzero, I like the stuff they
curate but were having a general look around at the exhibitions/vids" Steven & Richard
