Minim++ Talk & Installation>>

The festival launched 15 February with the first major international exhibition by Japanese artists' group minim++ at the Site Gallery, Sheffield.

The exhibition is made up of four installations representing a body of work that combines traditional Japanese iconography and interactive computer systems. minim++ develop their own experimental computer interfaces using video projection, stylised hand drawn animation, interactive sensor technology and custom built computer programs.

"It's very hard to speak English and to the talk! Thanks so much for letting us come. Last night we saw a good performance, Chris Watson" Motosh
"It's very nice to show our work here, this is the first time in England. The people look so nice who touch our work so it's very nice. It's very important for me that very young people and very old people can understand it and have access to it. Sometimes artwork is for too intelligent people" Kyoko
"Lovebytes is a very good experience for us and very fun!" Yasuaki

"Refreshing!" Tanja Uffer,[red coat]

"It's really great fun having something that reacts to you and I like the colours and I like the wit and quite frankly I'd like to have a few of them in my house so I could scare my mother-in-law. It's also about life in a way that you don't normally see, particularly with the table the ants going for the sugar and the little worms going across the table" Jill [right]
