'Zombie Dogs' - Dir: Toh Hai Leong, Sinapore

"I though it was quite a hard film to watch. It's a documentary about the political system in Malaysia, and I knew nothing about it before. It seemed to be against western society. The younger generation not understanding what politics are, like British Western Society. I was a little bit bored towards to end and it could do with some graphics."

Film Council Shorts

a selection of work by new film makers from the UK who've been stimulated by the creative possibilities of digital video.

Kim Campbell
Film Council Digital Shorts
"There were some good ones, the one that was documentary based stood out, I though it was very good. It's just a pity there wasn't more people in the audience. They deserved a much wider showing. I'm seeing the Peter Greenaway and Tarnation screenings, if I can find my pass, which is in my lost purse!"

DVD Screenings at Sheffield Independent Film Studio

This open screening ran throughout the day during the festival in the SIF studio, offering a chance to see some of the latest DVD compilation of short films and motion graphics on the big screen. Including DVDs from onedotzero, Warp Records, The British Animation awards and Lovebytes.

Andrew, North Wales

"There was some interesting stuff, quite diverse. I enjoyed the one that was like that Audi advert because I love cars. It's a good idea to have an open drop in style cinema, they should do that more often with short films and videos "

onedotzero - wow+flutter 04 - experimental expressions in motion graphics and animation.
wavelength 04 - the programme showcase some of the most graphically arresting and digitally progressive music videos.

Jerome Reburn & Roxanne Borowska, students, Sheffield

Jerome: "Really cool, some were I thought, not as good as I'd like but others made up for it. There was a particular one, very much the music I like, a kind of visual representation of the music that was being played. Quite a minimalist use of pianos and beeps, my favorite. Yes it was an hour of really interesting, relaxing videos."

Roxanne: "I thought the collection as a whole was quite short, which was a bit disappointing. I though that all the music style was kind of similar throughout, which kind of creates continuity but it would have been nice to have a bit of diversity. Very good over all I think!"

Phil Banister, works for Sheffield Uny.
OneDotZero - Wavelength 04

"I though it was mind blowing, it just makes you think there are a lot of creative people out there with a lot of time on their hands. Those things are so pain steakingly done, the creative process and the ideas as well, it wasn't just flash and empty. Yeah just a hell of the lot to take in, in the space of an hour and a half. I think the Air Performances, which was entirely abstract, and I think completely monochrome, was amazing, and Hunted by a Freak, was extremely funny and deified description!"

Lovebytes CGI Shorts

Emma Critchlow, Artist
"I've not seen anything at Lovebytes before and I thought that was bloomin marvelous! I must come again, but sorry I'm in a rush now!"
