My approach towards the design of the Eg.G Lovebytes poster centred around
my interpretation of what the Lovebytes event is: an exhibition/event involving
those who have a passion for the `appropriate use' of technology in their
work(Techno-junkies). By `appropriate use', I mean the use of technology
to enhance quality, push boundaries and explore new methods of working.
The inappropriate use of technology, filters for filters sake, is a sin. Those who shun the use of technology totally (techno-phobes/traditionalists), shut themselves off from such a valuable means of expression, when used correctly. Wooden type wasn't always traditional, it has just been labelled so because newer methods of working have evolved, and one day the computer may be regarded as traditional, compared with the next step... Being a pioneer[guinea pig] in a field can have its draw backs, in this case 14 days, 2 hours 31 minutes and 3 seconds worth of them! Software used in the poster production. Illustrator, Photoshop, Infini-D and Quark Xpress. |
