Welcome to Lovebytes!
Lovebytes 96 is a festival of new media in Sheffield: a week long programme of events exploring the social and cultural impact of the digital revolution.
On this site you will find images and information about the events at this years festival. Many of the images are animated and act as links to further information and other sites. This site will be growing and changing throughout the festival. You can find all the latest information about seminars and workshops on the What's New page.
This year's festival highlights include:
The Lovebytes New Media Commissions - five new works by multimedia artists at Site Gallery.
CMYKx4 - innovative posters specially commissioned from four leading design studios at the Workstation.
Other events at the Workstation include the launch of the Arts Council's Emotional Computing Commissions - twelve 1mb multimedia programmes, and The Killing Show an innovative mixed media performance and exhibition commissioned for Lovebytes 96.
Seminars at the Showroom Independent Cinema will look behind the scenes at the work of top multimedia design studios and will explore issues relating to the creative uses of new technologies. These seminars are aimed at media professionals, students and anyone interested in creating digital images, music, animation or multimedia. The Showroom will also be screening a special selection of films relating to digital technology and culture.
